Turrentine now has its very own greenhouse thanks to the Ecology Club and Ms. Parfitt. Students have been working hard getting everything assembled and set up. Ms. Parfitt used money she received from a grant to fund this project. Check out this great outdoor learning space!

EOG Olympics
Ms. Lynn and Ms. Bowes hosted a terrific learning event at TMS - the EOG Olympics! Students on the Cheetah team participated in Olympic events based on reading skills to help review for EOG testing. Check out these awesome athletes!
Project Unify
The Project Unify club at Turrentine has been very busy this year! Some of the highlights were helping with Special Olympics, the "Spread the Word to End the Word" campaign, and conducting a school-wide assembly. This week, Project Unify and Special Olympics athletes from TMS hung out with Elon Special Olympics athletes for a cookout at City Park. Everyone enjoyed the carousel, train rides, playing at the park, and a hotdog lunch. Thanks to Project Unify and Burlington Parks and Recreation!
Way To Go, Ms. Loftin's Homeroom!
Congratulations to Ms. Loftin's homeroom who collected the most money in our school-wide Pasta for Pennies campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! They won a free lunch from Olive Garden. Thank you so much to Olive Garden for helping to reward our students. The lunch was delicious!
All State Orchestra
These TMS students participated in the Western Regional All State Orchestra in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, May 5. Congratulations to these awesome musicians!
Fun at TMS!
There is a lot happening at Turrentine! Over the past few weeks, the PE classes have participated in some fun soccer activities. Eurosport and the Elon men's soccer team worked with students on soccer skills and team building activities.
Coach West along with Odalis, Diana, Annette, Celia and Monica organized a fun Cinco de Mayo celebration for Turrentine staff members. They served authentic food such as pupusas, tamales, enchiladas, tortillas con salsa, and beverages.
Collect Pop-tops!
Please save the pop-tops off of your canned drinks. Ms. Bullins and her classes collect them all year. At the end of the year, they donate the pop-tops to the Ronald McDonald House charity.
